Well, once again, Greg has done exactly what he set out to do. "The One" can be ridden 3" to 4" shorter than your standard shortboard because it's ridden a touch wider too, which makes it a really stable platform to push your surfing to next level from.
"The One" has a full planshape, moderate curves, a super neutral rounded square tail and thruster set up that provides a ton of drive but still breaks loose when you jam it. The lower entry sets the board up for ripping small surf while the full volume adds paddle power.
"The One" is the perfect answer to a stable, high performance all-rounder.
"Wow, what a board this is. Performs like a regular short board, but is just so easy to surf. No doubt you will double your wave count with this board..."

- SLX EPOXY TECHNOLOGY
SLX construction produces a controlled flex pattern by combining the versatility of epoxy materials with the added advantage of reduced weight. All SLX boards have an EPS core with a high-grade timber stringer, which is laminated by hand using epoxy resign, biaxial fiberglass and a specialized construction process.
Featuring a high strength-to-weigh ratio, and designs CNC milled directly from the shapers files. SLX boards feel light, responsive and are very sensitive under your feet. These boards are extremely versatile, easy to ride, and can be used in wide variety of conditions. You can find out more about GSI's surfboard construction on our surfboard technologies page

Phil from Vic, Australia says:
Wow, what a board this is. Performs like a regular short board, but is just so easy to surf. No doubt you will double your wave count with this board. I've ridden about 10 x 6.4 epoxy boards in the last 5 years and this is just the easiest to ride and delivers the same performance as a high performance short board. The extra foam through the nose and tail makes it super easy to paddle and I'm 6.2 and 88Kg. I ride my 6.0 Mini fish up to head height and then The One when it's overhead. Perfect 2 board quiver and thanks Greg for these awesome designs.
Mark from WA, Australia says:
Have been trying for some time to find a shortboard which I can paddle (45 years old) but which will still turn with a hippo on board (87 kgs). I took a chance on the 6'2 ONE, thinking it was maybe going to be too small, or worse, too corky. Well, I now have a new favourite board for small sucky beachies, or big clean reef breaks. It doesn't handle turbulence/chop real well, but that's to be expected given the lightweight construction. So glad I took a chance. I am considering buying another to put into storage in case they change the design. THAT'S how much I rate this shape. Oh, and it's a paddle machine, which seems to work with, rather than against you.
David Cochrane from NSW, Australia says:
I bought this board back in Dec. 09 and since, I've been in every condition imaginable from small & sloppy (2ft) to 7ft & perfect - right through this spectrum the One has not let me down. It gives you everything you can get out of small surf & still gives you the drive, when there's drive to have in bigger stuff! Don't be uncertain to drop down a couple of inches from your normal short board size, I'm 85kgs and went from my standard 6'4" to 6'2", no problems. My one concern before riding it was that with the extra width, the rails may get a little grabby in top turns & cutbacks, but even in gutless surf it just never happens. If you're not into a big quiver, this board cuts out at least 2 if not 3 boards & I don't particularly want to use a "pod" (or what we used to call a "baked bean" back in 1970!) which to my mind has a very limited wave range. As you can tell I'm wrapped - it just dosen't have any down side!
